Aftercare Advice

In order to gain maximum benefit from any massage it is advisable, as part of an aftercare routine, that you:
• Drink plenty of water and herbal infusions to help flush out toxins; massage aids the removal of toxins from the body.
• Avoid caffeine but aim to drink two glasses of water after each drink of tea or coffee if not.
• Rest as much as possible in order to assist the healing process.
• Don’t drink alcohol or smoke for the next 24 hours; massage aims to detoxify the body. Alcohol and smoking are counter-productive as they increase the levels of toxins within the body.
• Avoid heavy meals
• Eat a light and natural diet, as refined and processed foods add to the toxicity levels within the body and hinder the natural healing process.
Some people may experience the following:
• Tiredness or fatigue
• Changes in bowel movements/urine
• Changes in sleep patterns
• Headache
• Feeling emotional
• Flu-like symptoms
• Excess perspiration
These effects are only be temporary and should subside within 24 hours. They will be replaced by a feeling of vitality and well being after the body has re-balanced itself.
